As a follow-up of fruitful meetings in the Disaster-Resilient Societies (DRS) Thematic Area held from February to May 2021 within the “Community of European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS)”, DG HOME is planning to organise a DRS Information Day on the 14th June 2021, which will provide a snapshot of main research-related recommendations and perspectives collected from discussions in the areas of societal resilience, technologies for first responders, support to Sendai FWA, climate extreme events, multihazard risk management (critical infrastructures) and pandem

Under the frame of the Community of European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS), DG HOME is organising a new set of conferences addressing matters that are cross-cutting to the R&I activity in the different security domains. This set of conferences under the Thematic Group “Strengthened Security Research and Innovation”, look with particular interest into the challenges of innovation uptake.

The Stair4Security project is coming to an end, and it will host its final virtual event on the 27th and 28th of May.

The project began in January 2019 and was funded under the Horizon2020 framework. Its primary objective is to deliver a policy maker/practitioner-driven platform, enabling pre-standardisation, more effective networking within experts from policymakers and practitioners as well as research, industry including SMEs, to be realised. 

The Encircle project is coming to an end, and we have joined forces with Philippe Quevauviller and his Ceris initiative to provide our virtual end conference. Encircle has been a four-year project to strengthen the European industry and help create the tools and strategies needed to consolidate the EU CBRN communities of suppliers and practitioners in order to strengthen the field of CBRN safety, security, and defense in the European Union. We have achieved a lot in the last four years, not least of all acting as midwife to help birth a number of Part B projects!
